    What's the best way/place/site to get a handle on up-to-date information on selling prices in a particular suburb/region? That is to try to prove to yourself based on evidence whether the area you a looking at is flattening or dropping re values over the Jan08 -> Feb 08 -> Mar 08 timeframe. Oh…assuming that one doesn't have to the time to drive around on weekends to try to get this information first hand oneself somehow (i.e. time poor ).

    Local newspapers/agents – if you keep track of who the selling agents are, you can contact them for the sales price post auction. Local papers may show some of the current sales as well eg record prices or all prices if you are lucky.

    As for the capital cities – http://www.domain.com.au  now lists each sale weekly.
