    Hi Guys,
I have a situation that I'd like to share with you all,i'd love to hear your opinions.

In my younger days, i had bought an IP with a tenant in a small town off a realestate agent who happened to be managing it lets call him "Billy".I owned it for several years and never had any problems,I was also advised by the same agent that I was unable to increase the  rent as it was at "market value"(one of the first lies) Any way, last year i put the property on the market, It was pulling me down and I had to get rid of it quick smart.
Now this is where it starts getting a bit crazy: I had it advertised with another agent who is a friend of the family. (one of the few trustworthy ones).
My financial situation got worse and I was given a cut off period from the bank to bring my arrears up to date.
The managing agent evicted my tenant(saying to him that the bank is taking over the property)  without me knowing and the only reason I found out was through my agent that was about to take a potential buyer through!!!! The tenant had been out for three weeks!!!!!!
On top of that the managing agent was calling the (my)bank and asking about my financial situation , waiting, basically to get his hands on the property at cost price!!!!
I called the office and the manager returned my call 2 days later,he said to me that the tenant decided to move out on his own, which was a complete load of you-know what because the tenant had told me other wise!!!
The final straw was when my agent called me and said she had a lady call her about my property and Billy had told not to purchase it now because she will be able to get it cheaper at the morgtagee auction!!!!
Do you see the issue? Is there anything I can do to stop it from happening to anyone else??

What state? In QLD you can write to the OFT and give written notice to the Agency.  They do have an obligation to follow these up.

Also, there are many solicitors around who take pleasure from taking real estate agents down…  I'm not saying they're nasty, alot of real estate agents do deserve it!

If your in Queensland I could point you to some if you like…

    Cheers

    Matt

by-the-by; I am a real estate salesperson myself, I also enjoy helping people cut down the liars.  We've had clients that have been ripped off before, its not nice.

    Thanks for your reply Matt,
It's not in Qld it's in NSW. I tried to do some research on the topic, but I couldn't find much.

Try speaking with the REI NSW…  someone there should be able to help you out… also if the are a registered member of the REI then you might be able to take it further.

    Good luck

    Matt
