Hi Guys
Not sure if this is the right place to ask this question but I've been looking at some different packages to manage my personal finance and also handle my property investment portfolio. I tried MoneyBeans and I quite like it but it had minimal help to get me started and in the end my partner and I have decided to give Quicken Personal Plus 2008 a go. We're only using the 90 Day trial at the moment but it seems quite good. We're still quite novice in terms of taxation and some of the lingo and Quicken seems to give a bit more insight as to what some of the terms mean.
Does anyone know of any video based training tools for Quicken Personal Plus (Computer Based Training)? When I read descriptions about Quicken in terms of investment it only ever mentioned Shares and Superanuation but having installed it, it appears it can also handle property investment. Has anyone used it for this purpose before? I also noticed that there is a property management version around up to verstion 2.0 but am wondering if this may have now been incorporated into Quicken Personal Plus.
I also get the feeling that all these property investment programs seem to work as though your managing the tenant yourself and not via a real estate property manager. The main reason behind us doing this is obviously to better manage our money but also to get the full tax benefits and at the end of financial year know where we're at and have everything the accountant needs in minimal time rather than stress about time involved with getting everything ready.
We're currently building a second investment property and our goal is to get a new property each year.
If anyone has any answers or input into this for me it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
Hi David,
Have you ever heard of cashflow manager- rent manager. It is user friendly and inexpensive.
Look it up http://www.cashflow-manager.com.auI've been using this for years and LOVE IT!!
Cheers
SelinaHi David,
Like you we're using the trial version and have decided to buy the full product. We are using Quicken Home and Business since we need multi-currency having IPs in the UK and Australia. so far so good and we've got our share investments in it too so that we can see everything. I'm pretty impressed with it. I have used Quicken before but that was the 2001 version which was very different.
Hunt around on the internet for a good buy since the prices of Quicken seem to vary quite a lot.
Regards,
