Here what i found -> laser eye surgery
Hi All,
I got a friend had done this about 2 years ago.
but she is blind now !!
her eyes sight deteriorated after a year and one of the eye is always red ( not right after the surgery but about 1 year later of the surgery)
she went to other specialist to check out when her eye was red. the eye specialist said the laser surgery was trigger something and the surgury was not suitable for her eyes…….
now she is blind…….( not completely blind but her vision is blurred all the time, glasses is not helping at all…..)
I guess, better to seek for mulitple opionion from different speciality before do the surgery.
everyone has different condition.
I am not trying to scared people of but just a true story of my friend….

I looked into it a few years back, because like most people, glasses can be a pain in the backside from time to time.
However, in my research I discovered http://www.visionsurgeryrehab.org/ and they put me off. I didn't want to be one of the statistics who doesn't work out as my vision is too important to be stuffed up, even slightly.
Each to his own though, and it's great to hear so many positive reports from forumites.
Cheers,
One of the parents I meet at my kids school told me she used to work in the Ear and Eye hospital and had come across patients who had eyes that had had complications to Laser Surgery.
I wont have laser surgery due to the risks. I believe it's something like 1/10,000 have major complications. I have one dominant eye so if I had a problem with the surgery I would be stuffed. There are even documented cases of problems occuring with the non lasered eye! I dont know how that works but it must link up through the optical nerve somehow. Not for me but works for many people.

except for laser eye surgery …

Go as far as you can see and you will see further.
There are risks with any medical procedure, not only eye surgery. You have to weigh up the risk, seek a second opinion and decide from there. My brother had this eye surgery over 10 years ago, I had mine done about 5 years ago. Both of us consider it to be one of the best things we've ever done.

laser eye surgeryI had it done last year in Thailand.. they are very advanced there and so far my sight is perfect.. only cost $1,800 (plus travel). Heres their website http://www.laservisionthai.com
3 of my friends had Lasik in the last few years- all wore glasses before – not do now. They all did it cos hey play sport.
They are all very happy and would highly recommend it. One had a little infection for a few days after – needed some drops , but still highly recommends it to all who ask.
Good Luck
My father had laser eye surgery a few years ago. Never looked back, best few grand he ever spent he reckons!
Though laser surgery has given positive results, it would be not be correct to say that this method of eyesight correction has proven to be the ultimate method of vision correction for all people. Remember one size dose not fit all. There have been several complications post laser surgery such as the vision getting more deteriorated. Instead people can try another non-surgical method of improving the vision that is of the Bates Method.
Hello everyone,
I really like this forum very much because we can share our experience so, that the people who really want to do the surgery will get some idea about the procedures and all.I had a lasik surgery last year and I'm very with that surgery. Before the surgery I use to wear the glasses which was very horrible because I'm a carpenter and I have to do a very rough work. But one day one of my friend suggested me to do a lasik surgery, but I have no idea at that moment about the surgery. My friend suggested me to consult a doctor so that I can get all the information about the lasik surgery. As he said I consulted a doctor,he explained me about everything, like what are the procedures, complications and etc..,Then I have decided to do a surgery and I followed some instructions which the doctors suggested me before and after the surgery. And now I'm very happy and I'm doing my work happily. I really very thankful to the doctor who gave some good suggestions and helped me a lot.Thank you.Lasik surgery is a very important surgery and it has so many advantages for a better results for the people who are facing with their eyes.I have had the lasik surgery last and now I'm very happy with this surgery.before that I use to wear the glasses which was really horrible and uncomfortable for me.But after I done with the lasik surgery i felt very happy. The people who really want to do this surgery they need to follow some instructions before and after the surgery which will give by the doctors.
I also had Intralase, like bundyanimal, in Brisbane. My proceedure was done about a year ago, and like most people, it has been an extremely positive experience. Watching the video about the op was by far the worst part! This was a simple, painless proceedure with exceptional results – I can’t imagine wearing glasses and contacts again. I am in my early 40’s and do notice that I hold a book or newspaper slightly further away than I used to. This is not a problem to me, and certainly I do not require reading glasses yet. I was well aware of this possibility when I chose to have the procedure done and figured it was much better to use reading glasses occasionally, than the glasses for my shortsightedness constantly. Life is short – go for it!

Well said.That's really a good suggestion………………..
I had Lasik last year through Vista Eyes and it was money very well spent. The cost was $5,300 for both eyes and their service was fantastic. It was an interesting experience too, the actual surgery part took less than 5 minutes.

I had Lasik eye surgery a few years ago. It worked wonders for me. Can’t recommend it enough!! Don’t be afraid, the entire procedure was painless.
Do yourself a favour, see Dr Kim Frumar who has over 30 years experience, and served over 10,000 patients. The man knows his stuff and to be honest with you I wouldn’t trust anyone else. My mother, and younger sister have all seen Dr Kim Frumar since and are still raving about it.
the most important for best results, is to choose best professionals. Laser vision correction has always some risk but if company gives a guarantee of the full safety during the surgery ( sometimes you have special insurance) it tells you something about firm. I come from Poland and in my opinion most experienced specialists are in Krakow. I recomend this place is safe and you also might safe.
you might check them here

They have clients from all around the world.I had laser surgery in Adelaide nearly 10 years ago (I think that's the time frame).
I was one of the very earliest patients for this particular eye surgeon. To the best of my knowledge I was one in a group of 5 people that were his first patients.
In fact, he had a surgeon from Queensland (where he purchased the equipment) to assist in the procedures as he was new to the technique.
I have had some serious issues, but the REAL issue I had is that this very well known surgeon does not consult after the procedure/s. There is one follow up visit and that is the last I could see of him. I phoned several times over the ensuing months and even years but as soon as they find out that I've already had the procedure I'm told 'sorry we don't consult' you will need to see your optician. It's a viscious circle, because when I go to see the optician or GP they refer me back to the surgeon who won't see me and they refer me back to the optician.
At one stage a GP actually phoned the surgery whilst I was sitting in her office and the surgery made out like it wasn't a problem and I could definitely make an appointment to see the surgeon. When I got there I was given a check up by a junior optician and didn't get to see the surgeon even though he was at the clinic.
So when I see advertisements that talk about how many procedures the clnic has done or how many years they've been going for – I get really cross.
Certainly in this instance, this surgeon has absolutely no idea of the long term results from his earliest patients.
What anyone should be aware of when considering this procedure is that for surgeons such as my Adelaide guy, he's not a health care specialist. He's not someone who got in the industry because he wants to help people regain their sight. He is never going to volunteer overseas in third world countries or do pro-bono cases, these guys are in it for the money. It's big, big business for them – you are going to be in and out that door like a piece of furniture and then you could very well be on your own in the long run.
For me, I am now color blind – I can’t tell the difference between hues, eg navy blue or black, purple or grey, moss green or lilac etc. I also have such a severe case of ‘dry eye’ that even using specialised eye drops and gels my corneas still get ulcerated. One optician I consulted said to me that he wasn’t surprised, “after all you have had a considerable amount of your cornea shaved off”.
I am searching info about LASIK at the moment. I’ve read much about this eye surgery and came to the conclusion that the result depends on many factors: pre-surgery condition, eye doctor skills, health in general and luck too. LASIK is still a surgery and has it’s risks http://lasikblog.net/lasik-complications-risks-and-side-effects/
