Previous PPR interest is it claimable

Hi All

This possibly has been treated before but cant locate it.

A friend has just built a future investment property and has moved into it to give it the finishing touches. Whilst there they have rented out their PPR for 12 months. They intend to move back in after 12 months.

Question can they claim the interest paid on their PPR whilst they are renting it out.
