I’ve been contemplating the situation we have with our population in 40 years time and it’s not looking so rosy for IPs (and perhaps our economy). All the stats appear to be pointing to quite a stall in population growth and a reliance on immigration to counter the decline. The average family size is shrinking and the fertility rate is aprox 1.77, which logically means less people (it takes 2 children to replace the 2 adults it took to produce them). In turn this would mean a lower demand on extra properties to service the population. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? Are we in for a big stall on our economy in 40 years when its generation X’s children heading into retirement?

Views on immigration will change and we will up the numbers…..someone has to work here and pay taxes.
Perhaps think of what Indians and Chiese like in their properties?
Indians and Chinese.
Catering for those races, as immigration. Hmm.
Well I think one story houses, as the old people and I don’t think chinese like two story houses. Imagine a chinese lady trying to pull a vacuum cleaner up a flight of stairs.Christopher.
