I wish to approach the owner of a building in Victoria with an ofer to purchase their property (which is not advertised for sale). Is there a government department or otherwise where I can find the contact details of the current property owner in order to approach them?

    Two options:

    1. Title Search will tell you who owns the property.
    2. Council Rates will also tell you – however not sure if they will give it out with Privacy Laws – however definetly worth a try.

    Happy hunting…[biggrin]

Often real estate databases often have telephone numbers for the property I used to subscribe to one, but it only had NSW properties.

Of course, this is only of use if it is an owner occupied ppty. If it turns out being a rental, you could try the white pages, etc.
