I’ve just finished reading “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill. A very old book but the principles still apply almost 70 years hence, and a “must have” for all investors.
Anyway he talks about “Sex Transmutation” where the emotion of sex is the most intense and powerful of all mind stimuli and if transmuted can lift one to the status of a genius. Think about it men develop a keenness of imagination, courage, will-power, persistence and creativity all in the persuit of sex. If this powerful energy can be redirected into property investment think of how rich you could become !!
Care to share your story about this. Keep it clean boys and girls!!Amanda
“It is better to be inconspicuously wealthy, than to be ostentatiously poor…”Gives a whole new meaning to the phrase “Coming into money” ??? [eh]
I guess the end result is if you focus and commit yourself to investing with a passion then you should do just as well as any athlete who does the same for their sport.
There are your weekend rugby players who practice for a couple of hours each weekend and have a game each weekend as well. Then you have the professionals who slug it out in training or the gym for 10 hours a day.
There are weekend investors who just buy a few houses here and there with rose coloured glasses. Then there are real investors who attend all the training courses, read all the books and financial reviews while constantly hunting the markets for the next deal.
Does this mean you should align your successes with having sex and align your failures with abstinence?
I cannot see any other way to harness that power!
Hi Amanda
I hate to admit this – and let down all those femanist forum members – but a flutter of the eylids and a sweep of the hair often does wonders when negotiating with male tradespeople/real estate agents/bank manager etc etc – and sometimes also doing the “dumb blonde” thing at the same time [blush2]
Why does this work? Because the majority of men are motivated by sex that’s why – I agree Amanda (and Napolean Hill) that it seems to be men’s most powerful stimuli and most intense emotion – not sure how far I would have to go to get rich by this method alone though(!)
Gosh I hope I haven’t stirred up a hornet’s nest here!!![ohno2]
a flutter of the eylids and a sweep of the hair often does wonders when negotiating with male tradespeople/real estate agents/bank manager etc etc – and sometimes also doing the “dumb blonde” thing at the same timeAgreed. I am extremely concious of this when dealing / negotiating with women, and make it a particular point to be extra tough on the women, for this very reason. They absolutely do not like it when they realise I am unwilling to play their game.
Why does this work? Because the majority of men are motivated by sex that’s why – it seems to be men’s most powerful stimuli and most intense emotionOnce again – agreed. It does take an extra special effort to ignore the subtle “non-verbal and non written” stuff that goes on during a negotiation. As mentioned above, it regularly turns ugly quickly during a negotiation when I purposely negotiate harder with women….and not cut them any slack whatsoever, than say a man standing there in a pair of coveralls. Just my way of ensuring I don’t get rolled by that particular and common tactic.
if your negotiation skills are limited to battering eye lids you’re in big trouble.
In property investing and business, women (and men) need to depend on more than just the way they look to be successfull.
What happens if you are negotiating with another woman or with a man that is just not interested!
My interpretation of Napolean Hill was that people that are too strung up sexually tend NOT to be successfull in life!

Goodness no, gosh you got me all wrong here. My negotiating skills are by no way limited to a flutter of the eylids – I would be a pretty sad and shallow person if they were – and I don’t think I would have got very far at all in life if that’s what I relied upon (and what a hideous thought anyway!)
My comment was merely intended to say that SOMETIMES using the female charms MAY help just a little bit…. But at the end of the day I’m a professional, intelligent woman perfectly capable of negotiating and dealing professionally with men and women alike.
