We have a dual occupancy with a common stormwater system. We want to sell one townhouse and have recently heard the cheapest way out of this (rather than a body corporate) is to set up a 99 year lease for $1.00 a year. This would be for maintenace of pumps or any repairs that might be needed for the stormwater drains. How can we make a fair deal for the people in the rear townhouse as the electricity for the pumps is on their bill. Could we allow $50 (or something) per year payback? Any input gratefully received.

C’mon guys & dolls, I don’t require legal advice, just some what ifs, hurly burly and anecdotal. Someone must have heard something about a similar situation.
