All Topics / Help Needed! / Advice Please -Somerley Estate Clarkson
Hi everyone,
I am in WA and new to all this and was wondering what people thought about buying property in the Somerly Estate in Clarkson.
I thought it sounded like a nice area but after reading some other forums am under the impression that you should stay away from Clarkson if you are buying up north as there are problems (which people never elaborate upon).
Also can anyone recommend any reasonably valued blocks available in perth (not hours away) with good investment potential? I saw a development called Sinagra in Joondalup which looks nice?
Thanks in advance for your assistance.
Hi there,
All I really know is that Clarkson has been referred to as “Balga by the beach”.
Would have thought the area has a lot of potential though, one suburb back from the beach and short drive to Joondalup and the city. Personally, I think a lot of suburbs along that strip have a way to go in terms of price.
I’d be looking at Sinagra in preference to Somerly. It all depends what you intend to do with the property though.

thank you for your comments thus far.
The property will probably be for investing. Buy the land and sit on it for a while (not sure when I would build on it).
check out The Grove at Ashby – blocks ther for around $155-160k.
I was never a fan of it but… Byford Central. have heard that Alcoa are expanding and the workforce may commute from there. blocks are cheap.
Capricorn – see thread under development. no secret that I think it has long term potential (i have bought in there).
some opportunites in and around Falcon – new town centre upgrade has been earmarked.
Singleton – Bayshore are taking $500 expressions of interest on the next release, no idea what prices will be like.
