Thank you Steve for providing the forum and for undertaking the update.

I think it looks pretty slick. Much clearer and easy to use.

Thanks Steve. New format looks good so far. Of course it’ll take us all a while to learn our way around the new layout, but that’s always the case with change and if we feared that then we’d never advance would we!

    Hi Steve
Not sure if this is the place to ask, but when replying to a topic PREVIEW post button does not work.

font is small, and blends into background a bit too much.

To be perfectly honest I prefered the old format/layout as far as the forum goes..

As Michael said, thanks for providing the forum Steve; it’s been invaluable…I’m looking forward to touring this new look $ite

    Hi Steve,

The new format looks good, but I have a few suggestions:

    1) As muppet stated, the text is hard to read. a) increase size by 1 or 2 points, and b) change the text colour to black, or change the back ground colour. Grey on blue doesn’t work.

    2) The sash menu on the right hand side makes the main forum frame too narrow. I would prefer it if this menu was removed completely. The only thing that really interests me is the “Member Functions” and this can simply be placed at the top of the page. I understand you have this for advertising purposes, but maybe only use it on the homepage, and not in the forum?

    Just my thoughts…

    Regards,
    Ozi

    Hi,

I agree that there are formatting issues that need to be addressed, especially the font size and readability of text.

    Please keep you suggestions coming.

    Steve McKnight

    Hi Steve,
    looks flash…..

I still think that the R.E.S.U.L.T.S. forums should only come up if you are registered with that program! As in, for myself who hasn’t registered, when I log on I should not be able to see the list of topics posted by that group. I can’t access it anyway and I would have to scroll past it every time I log on. I know this sounds lazy on my behalf, but I feel more like it is ‘rubbing salt in the wound’ as it wasn’t my voluntary choice to miss the program![blush2]

    Hope that helps..

    Cheers

    Sorry Steve,
another thought – it would be great if there was a box (similar to “Include Signature”) to allow you to subscribe to the topic you are replying to.

Or simply automatically subscribe you to each post you reply to.

    Cheers

I’d just like to add that the ‘breadcrumbs’ which track how deep you are into the forums don’t seem to be working.

ie home >> forums >> help needed

The old format had clear and easy to use breadcrumbs and I found them useful. Many forums omit this important feature and leave you ‘stranded’ after posting or reading.

    Hi again,

The breadcrumb issue is on the agenda to fix… something happened in the roll out that stuffed it up.

In regards to the RESULTS folder… you now have the option of collapsing that forum so that you don’t need to see any of the posts that are in it.

We do not have the functionality to only show it if you are a RESULTS member.

You should still be able to subscribe to topics. I’ll take a look into it.

    Keep the suggestions coming please.

    Regards,

    Steve McKnight

    Hi Steve ,
I like the look of this new forum better but it seems quite a bit slower than the old one , maybe it’s still being tweaked hey .

    G’day Steve

Thanks for the forums. Much appreciated. That was the good bit ;-)

I don’t like to new forum layout. As has been said before, the font is too small and the right hand panel makes the forum space too narrow. Also I believe the different colurs for read and unread threads are too indistinct. For me, please bring back the old forum format.

    Cheers, Paul

    Hi Steve,

Mostly, I’m a bit pragmatic about this sort of stuff. A forum is a forum and this one is great regardless of the layout.

I’m glad I’m not the olny one who has found it to be s…l…o…w compared to before but I suspect my poor (old) computer is mostly responsible for this.

I also agree with Paul that the colour differentiation between read and unread threads needs to come back. If there is still a difference I’m no longer able to pick it.

I’m sure that with a few changes and all the glitches ironed out the new format will work really well for all!

They say that a change is as good as a holiday and boy do I need a holiday so thanks for all your efforts.

    Hi Steve
    thanks for the forum.
I must admit though I preferred the old format layout.
As mentioned before the font is way too small.

Yes, I personally prefer the previous format to be frank. But thanks for the effort to make it better.

Yes I agree that the size of the font is a bit too small and too light.

When you post a new reply, the smilie list on the left shrinks, so it is harder to quickly choose a smilie. [confused2]

Also, the grey borders on the sides are a waste of space and could be used more wisely!

For the rest, it looks good and is still an easy site to navigate![upsidedown]
