All Topics / General Property / How far have you spread your investing net?
Just a thought!
It would be nice to see where all you property investors have bought your property rentals. Not the amount of properties, but the locations.
Towns and suburbs.
Starting off with your PPOR location.
The interest would be in seeing the distances from your home base.Mine are almost on my front door. All in Sydney.
The suburbs of
Nth Curl Curl,}
Harbord, } All on the northern beaches.
Dee Why. }Chatswood. Just north of the Sydney CBD.
bruham.
I lived on the Northern beaches – great part of the world. At the moment investing in Opportunities in South Island NZ. Also looking a buying a particular property in oz that i have had my eye on for a while now.
Cheers

Email now to receive info on the lastest deals!Umm, we aren’t very brave or clever, so all of ours are within 7km of the Perth CBD.
The intent in the future is for the dragnet to be reigned in severely to be within a few hundred metres of the CBD.
Bruham,
I live in a Southern suburb of Perth. I have 2 townhouses in southeast suburbs of Brisbane and looking at an apartment in Darwin at the moment.
PudI’d like to get the chance to claim travelling costs in my tax return. So I spread the properties in Sydney (where I live in), NSw, Queenslands, WA and SA.
Cheers,
hermanWithin 3km’s of our PPOR in Mandurah. Looking further afield now but will probably still buy within WA.

Getting out of your comfort zone, can help you become comfortable
Hi All,
We live about an hour south of Sydney & we started in invest interstate. We could not handle the distance in trying to manage the property & so reigning our properties in to within a hour travelling time.
Courage is not acting without fear but acting despite your fear.
G’day Dazzling,
A few years ago I sold all my properties. The newspapers were telling anyone who would read their articles that the doom and gloom was coming.
Any minute now, it would be upon us.Because people believe what they read. It must be right!
So anticipating the crunch, I sold the lot.On the slow down I bought at North Curl Curl, on the headland. A dual occ.
Kept as is for three years. bulldozed them, built two beautiful dual occs.Bought for six hundred and ninety K. Paid six hundred and fifty K for the housing. Today valued at two point three-five million dollars.
Millionaire in three years.Boom boom!!!Dazzling how’s your head trying to keep up with all your properties?
Four properties is a breeze.
I only buy above average properties.
I’m looking in Sydney’s western suburbs for a above average property.Over here “westies” is a derogatory term.
Wonder if that means Perth as well?It happens to be another dual occ. This one is in a security complex in a gated commmunity.
This keeps away the riff raff.I would look in Perth, but those BLOODY flys.
The great Australian salute. Every two BLOODY
minutes.
Can’t think of anything else but keeping those BLOODY flys out of your face.bruham.
G’day bruham…well done on your successes to date. Are you leading the easy life now ??
Dazzling how’s your head trying to keep up with all your properties?Umm, the head is OK (many would say – yeah right !!), but really we don’t have that many. Certainly nothing like some folks on this forum.
Of late, the ones we have been purchasing have taken a bit of work, buying them in a distressed state and all of the haggling with Directors to sign them up has been arduous. Now that that phase is over, I expect there to be little to no work over the next 6 years with them.
The RIP’s of course are a constant and never ending pain, and if our loans structure wasn’t such a tangled web of X-coll, I’d drop the lot tomorrow. They are a necessary evil at this stage, but they are all earmarked to be shoved off to some investor who has far more time and money than us.
Good luck in the future.
I live in Newcastle at present whilst my wife studies medicine here. She is nearly finished but we like it so much we will stay for a while.
My strategy dictates that I buy where I have well researched – to date this is my backyard and there is no shortage of deals here.
Cheers,

I live in Melbourne, so so far I’ve only bought in my back yard. One in Armadale, (Melbourne) and one in Frankston. I’m kind of hoping that Frankston’s going to take off in the next few years given it’s proximity to the beach.

PPOR in Coffs Hbr, just sold 1 12 metres away, have another 1/2 km away and are building a new PPOR 1km away. i figure if you can’t have a go in your own backyard how are you going to do it in someone elses, of course there is always exceptions.
roboWhen I first started buying property, this broker said what the hell do you hope to achieve, buying willy nilly all over the place?
Buy the best property that you can afford, improve on it, then sell the thing. Then start again.
It took me two years to use his system. Two years of wasted time.
He knew more than I’ll ever know.
That’s why I now buy only above average properties.Dazzling,
I sympathize with your cross collateralisation.
It took me years to climb out of that hole.
The problem is that the banks fight you all the way to keep you in the hole. Right up to your neck.Perhaps you should have a chat to LOANS APPROVED P/L. ED NIXON.He’s an expert on un-cross collateralisation. Email [email protected]
Phone 1300 657 132.In the beginning I used the internet and searched all over Aust.for the RIGHT property.
Country towns that I had never heard of.Couldn’t see too much that jumped out at me.When you see everyone’s achievements in this post it shows what a dumb bastard I am.
They stand out like monuments.Who said work smarter, not work harder?
Well “we”- this website- certainly are definitely all trying like hell to achieve this aim.
Bless you all.
Well DON’T just sit there. THINK!!!bruham.[chill]
My investing net has been cast between 20 minutes from home and whatever the distance between Sydney & Perth is. Or more acurately Kiama NSW & Mandurah WA!

Great work everyone; just remember to always Congratulate Yourselves for your achievements.
