All Topics / Help Needed! / How much does an accredited Valuation really cost?
I am curious what are the ranges of fees across Australia for valuing a property. Banks normally quote about $600-$1000 to value a property. On an individual basis I have seen some valuers quoting $300-600. I am in the process of doing some refinincing and would like to know the cost in NSW, QLD and WA. Any input from you guys will be appreciated. I mean accredited valuer panels for banks. Just does not make sense to pay too much in my opinion. Is there a schedule fee on how much they can charge?? Hi Poochi,
$1K seems very steep, on average $270 – $300 is the norm,
However, if you intend to refinance in most cases the incoming lender will include the cost of the valuation in the application fee, Cheers.Regards

Thanks Steven for your response. Am I correct to assume that a valuer also can value a house plan to work out the equity portion. Am I correst to say that it must have council approval first before the valuing is legit. What happens if the intention to build is not fullfilled due to circumstances?…is ther any penalty or is this practice widely used to get more equity??…..from my reading of books it seems it is the way used by some reno-developers..[blink]
