    The Looker

These people are just waiting for the right time or the right deal but never seem to find it. They have lots of excuses like, when i get a good job – as soon as i get my mortgage down – when the kids are older – as soon as the market changes etc, they are also timid and nervous and focus on failures rather than successes.

    The Basic

This investor has a home and one other property with some investments in super, shares and other small safe stocks. They are very causious and generally do every thing close to home because they like to drive by and keep an eye on things.

    The Intermediate

This investor is semi agressive with property investments interstate. They have a good general knowledge and talk to advisors and accountants for feed back and guidence. They also rely on research before they enter into any deals or transactions including stocks, bonds, and curriencies.

    The Advanced

This investor has at least 10 properties relying heavily on research and walking the streets. They are smart and NOT affraid of making a decission, in fact they are prepared for any adjustments in the market like interest rates and market crashes. They know that investing is long term and are not interested in get rich quick stratagies.

So which group are you in??

I think the one that most accurately describes our particular circumstances would be “The Basic”.

As non of my IP’s are within 2000km of home, I guess that makes me an “Intermediate”. But as far as I’m concerned I’m still a bit wet behind the ears, always learning though.

    Hey resi wealth,
I actually think thats a bit general.
Its very hard to box in all investors to a category like that.
A person may have a bit of all those levels depending on the situation and deals.

I like the way that reads. Especially the part about doing the research and being prepared. The whole thing really. This game is long term imo.

Shock horror, I see a bit of me in all of them.
Looking interstate right at this moment.
Big Aussie Home loans has put the wind up me for buying in Sydney.
Yesterday made an offer for a full duplex in the (Sydney) suburbs.
Might need to change my mind on that one.

I reckon I’m an Intermediate but on the low side because I invest interstate ( 1 townhouse and another settling this month in QLD) but I wouldn’t say I’m aggressive….More cautious.

Do you think that being in one area you could feel comfortable to change to another.

I’ve recently started buying entire cities, as suburbs were becoming a drag…
