First of all can I just say I am bloody relieved to have read Steves 2nd book before choosing an investment strategy. And i thought that buying one ip would set me up for life how naive. Who needs super i’ll buy an ip keep it for 25 yrs sell then retire happily, i would say to myself, not realising what inflation and the greedy tax man does to the paper profit. His book did burst my little bubble, however, thats good as i am not so naive now. As i have read on the forums though, +cf ip in 2005 wow, bloody hard to find, i mean how can you buy a ip for $100,000 and then rent it out for $200/week. in my short time of reading and looking it seems negative geared property producing +ve cf after tax savings is the best.

Anyway my situation is that we bought a very nice townhouse in coorparoo, we aim to rent this out(-ve geared) while we head overseas for 2 yrs.

We will however be at a big loss per week because we can’t use any tax savings as we are not earning any salary here. Our salary in the UK should take care of that.

Theres 2 good things about England the salaries are huge and of course the cricket team. Sorry.

We then will return to Brisbane and buy a house with pool as our primary residence, as we will have a young family by then. We will then call our townhouse an ip and hopefully it will give us +ve cf by then.

If only it happens as easily as i have written it. So the thing to ask you all oh buddys/friends and i do like ricky ponting is can anyone recommend a bloody good accountant and a bloody good mortgage broker in the brisbane area.

    Thankyou and goodnight
