I am a brand new property investor, having bought a great house sight unseen, at auction. (Accidentally drove past it as the auction was starting, teeming with rain and we had just lost our hockey final).
One owner for 40 years and immaculate but very dated. I need to replace the carpets and curtains, new laundry, plus paint inside and out before putting on the rental market.
My query- because I am buying this as a business investment, can I access more reasonable prices for stuff (paint, in particular!)?
    I already have an ABN.

I’m not sure about Oz, better to ring and ask bunnings and mitre 10 etc. In NZ at Mitre 10 anyone can get a 10% discount card (like a rewards membership) I would imagine they have something similar in Australia.

    hi Megan
Get a company cheque account and pay by cheque with the abn.
most suppliers will bill as a company account and pass the trade discount accordingly.
if you are going to the same store do as above and ask for a 7 day account they are usually on the spot issues and the discount is usually higher.

    here to help
