A fellow 4wder?
Landcruiser 100 series – Turbo Diesel. Great for heading out into the WA deserts every year and exploring the hidden treasurers on our south coast.
No I don't 4wd as such, but I do regularly have need to go on unsealed roads that are often a bit rough or underwater or marred by giant speedhumps made by the Parks Victoria folks.

But JacM – you Victorians have some fantastic places to explore in the Otway Ranges and the Central Highplains.
Bloody lovely country.
That is quite true, though I'm happy as a pig in mud spending lots of time in the very awesome Grampians.

Great topic!
We are a 2 car family.
My wife drives a 2006 Mercedes ml320 cdi. I honestly couldn't reccomend a car any more than this.
I recently bought a toy for myself… 1997 Porsche 993 turbo. Very impractical with 2 children.
It is for sale if anyone is interested.
Eh, what the heck – might as well join the crowd
That's the car I purchased about 9 months ago:
I have always been a fan of Honda Civics not only because of their stylish appearance, but also because of their reliability and fuel efficiency.
If you've never driven one, I highly recommend you give it a test drive
Hi Kong,
Nice car, is that why you keep it in the lounge ?
Haha…
Yeah it's a really nice car close to perfect condition, but 'No' I keep my car in the garage like all other normal people do
Car only did 2,500km at the time of purchase so I believe it might have been a show room car
Hi Kong,
Honda's have a good reputation, it's probably the only car brand I have never heard anyone complain about the vehicles.
Good choice !
Choosing car is a lifestyle issue. Personally, we have Mercedes Benz E class series because want something elegant and reputable. There are really nice and luxury cars available in the market. Try this site

Although I do not like wasting money on cars I find that if you buy a used European can you get a lot of car on the second hand market. My wife drives a BMW X5 which she loves and I have a 2005 e320 benz which is a dream. Great cars and great value second hand

I've love to have a European car, either a BMW or Merc but not at this stage they're just to costly for me so I'll divert funds to investing till I reach my goal and then reset.
Kong, nice car, my folks have the same one! great quality, only think I don't like about it was it was a little slugish for my liking, I have a 2.0 Lancer but thinking about a civic hatch for the wife. Great affordable cars, last Mitsubishi I had from new lasted 11 yrs before I sold it, without giving me any hassles, and same as my folks old honda with lasted 20yrs from new then sold it with no dramas.

Rent the plate?
Buy the plate on vendor finance terms?
Claim use of Dubstep as breach of copyright.
Nick it?
Trade your wife for plate?
Place Caveat on owner of plates home until your plate is returned to its rightful owner?
Hold car owner's partner at ransom until your plate is returned – mind you this one may not work might be the result the owner is looking fo?
Hire a hit man?
.
Thanks for the moral support guys !
Derek, I'm not going to mention option number 5 to Mrs Dubs, I will try and keep that one from her for your security.
Mrs Dubs is still asleep at the moment but when she wakes up and tells me that we won last nights 22 mill lotto, I'm going to ask her to buy this ute for me and then track down the Dubstep plate owner and buy it.
The lotto will fix everything !
.
My Baby !
Must be a big fish to need a ute.
just purchased a toyota 86, currently has a two year wait. would be one of the few cars where buying second hand would be more than buying new because people want to jump the queue. was offered 3k more than what i paid for it when i went to pick it up. the investor in me wanted to sell it right then and there! as long as the high demand with a limited supply continues, i will have a pretty good re-sale value
