    Hi Everybody,

I am presently looking to buy a house for renting out with a view to moving from Sydney to Brisbane in the future.

I have narrowed my choices to the following suburbs:

    a) Macgregor
    b)Robertson
    c) Sunnybank and

    d) Upper Mount Gravatt

For Brisbanites, is proximity to the train line very important (it is very important in Sydney). I ask this question as i noticed the nearest train station is Sunnybank and this would narrow my choice to c). However i have been told Macgregor High School is excellent and again this is important for my kids.

BTW, my budget is $350 000 for an average 3 or 4 BR house. Rentability is important for me as i will not be moving until a year later. (is it easy to rent houses out in these suburbs? Where can i go to check vacany rates?)

Would appreciate any comments from forumites who may have the local knowledge that i lack.

    Thanks so much

    lee

If you want to live around these areas, should also look at Eight Miles Plans (look for houses with walking distance to the bus way and you will have tenants queuing up….) . Houses in this suburb are newer (good depreciation). The express buses are very frequent and take only 15 mins to the city (through bus tunel). By car is via freeway and hence very fast too. If in Synnybank , try to buy near the Market Plaza if possible (good rental return).
