I have found a property offering good potential returns, but it is being leased through the department of housing.Just wondering if anyone has experienced these type of arrangements, and would like some opinions and advice on whether to steer clear or look further into it. Can anyone help?[blush2]

look into the deal. If the figures stack up them go for it. Dept of housing rent your property from you over a 7 year lease which means they will guarentee rent for that time frame whether you have a tenant in the house or not. They will pay for new carperts and paint the house after the 7 years is up . The idea behind this is a long term ivestment and you rely on capital growth over the 7 years.. Go for it

have 2 houses with dept of housing for over 5 years. both have performed well with all rentals payed on time, maintanance taken care of by them. have no complaints at all and would not hesitate to rent others in the same way
