I have box gutters (ie the gutters are hidden behind the fascias) on the outside of my property. They need replacing. The Fascia looks like its decaying. The corners have already been capped with flashing.

I understand you can cover the box gutters with colourbond instead of replacing the fascia. However I reckon the timber fascias look better than the color bond.

If it was a rental property I would probably use the colorbond option. However this is my PPOR.

I do not know who can help replace the fascia. As the box gutters are tucked away behind the fascias. Is it the plumber or is it a carpenter/builder? Has anyone replaced box Gutters? Any advice?

    Hi Yack,
Either a roofing specialist or a home improvement company would be able to help. Both do this type of work and have the relevant tradies on hand.

The box gutters are usually done by plumbers. They will also install colourbond fascia. There are also specialist fascia and guttering companies.

If you use wooden facisa it will be considerably more expensive and you will also need a carpenter.

Try the local paper there are many roof plumbers that fix guttering and will do timber fascis as well. What it sounds like to me would be called a concealed gutter rather than box gutter, however im not a plumber.

i agree with tBS, a roof plumber would be your best option. if you are lucky, the roof plumber may have been a builder /carpenter and he just changed trades. i know the guy our company uses used to be a builder.so he might be able to carry out all the work for you.

    good luck.
