Hi people,
Could anyone share some general info on property in Adelaide? Best suburbs etc. We live on the Central Coast NSW, thinking about buying property down there and possibly living there in the future. Cheers, John.Adelaide prices are still holding relatively firm. The median is around 280K. One of the best areas to buy and hence rent is along the Anzac Highway. This is the main road that runs from Glenelg to the city. (Best to look it up on a map). Glenelg is by the ocean and is full of high rise, cafes etc. bit like the gold coast. Anywhere on Anzac highway is 15 minutes to the city or the sea.
Can’t say I agree about Anzac Highway, too busy with too many cheap small units. The areas around it though are worth a look.
One of the suburbs I believe will be up and coming for capital growth is Blair Athol, this is an old trust and war area, with basic 50’s houses. People have just started to rip them down or renovate but the area is still cheap for how close to the city it is and the infrastructure (between Main Nth Road and Prospect Road).
Hi,
Near costal areas of adelaide that have not too many units being developed is a good starting point.
Espacially if you buy near the suburbs that are well known and expensive.
It just depends on what your plan is. Investment future paln.

[biggrin]Hi guys
I agree totally with anzac hway being a no go zone. Although Glenelg is a surfers paradise type district, a lot of places between glenelg and the city, particularly on anzac hway itself are filled with the kind of people you wouldnt want to be living in your house (thats the nicest way to say it)
Blair Athol has a very bad reputation and its justified. A lot of areas around the metro area that used to be trust areas and very high crime areas are slowly being knocked down and replaced with new houses. The thing is that people are building these new houses (Edwardstown and Mitchell Park to name just a couple of suburbs) and then wondering why they are constantly being broken into and having fences graffitied. Althoug h the capital growth may be there in the long run, the crime is something you may have to put up until all the old residents are moved on.
anyway thats enough for now but hope that helps
