All Topics / Overseas Deals / How much?
Hi Everyone,
Could someone please tell me what other costs I would approximately be up for, if I purchased a property in New Zealand at around the $45000 dollar mark. I would hopefully be able to get a 90% LVR loan, so I would put down a $4500 deposit.
e.g stamp duty, soliciters fees, mortgage insurance, loan setup fees etc.
What are council rates like in New Zealand? Thanks for everyone’s help,
BenHi Ben,
Unless you’re a Kiw I think 90%LVR is difficult to obtain, although some people have managed it.
There is no stamp duty in NZ.
My solicitor charged around $550 per property.
Insurance was around $350.
Loan setup fees where around $500
Council rates are approx $1,000 pa
You may also need to factor in a building inspection and electrical inspection depending on the age of the property.
Cheers, Nobleone. [biggrin]

Hi Beno
Council rates vary around the country and on the value of the land.
We pay approx $1200 in South Auckland and Napier.
In Tokoroa about $1100 per property.
However in Taumarunui or Te Kuiti rates are about $1600.If you have lakeside in Taupo then your rates are between $3000 and $4000 per annum.
Regards
