If it is a deposit on a purchase, it depends on the terms of the contract. Usually it will go to a solicitor or the RE agent.

Why do you want an accountant to hold it?

well we are doing a sale thru Self Sell and using a conveyancing coy so we have the issue of where to put teh dep money. I have read the relevant land act and think it is a a reasonable thought to put it in to an acctants trust acct. Either way the funds can’t be moved without the authority of the purchaser which I could get at the time of the deposit being made so – solicitor -v- accountant?[blink]
