My wife and I are seriously considering purchasing vacant land at Elmslea Estate in Bungendore (we live in Canberra) with the intention of building a 3/4 bedroom home as a long term investment opporunity. We are looking at the potential here in regards to the Defence HQ establishment to be commenced soon and hopefully renting the property to Defence personell (ie: families). Looking at a total cost of approx $400 – 450,000 all up.
Our concern is that we have been provided with info which lends us to believe that Queanbeyan and or Canberra will be accommdating personnell accommodation.
With that in mind, does anyone have any “pearls of wisdom” that they may share with us…as we are relatively new to investing, but forsee a “potential” door opening here (at Elmslea) or are we way off the mark!warm regards
