You are driving along in your new porche boxter car on a wild, stormy night. You pass by a bus stop, and you see three people waiting for the bus:
1. An old lady who looks as if she is about to die.
2. An old friend who once saved your life.
3. The perfect man (or) woman you have been dreaming
about.
Which one would you choose to offer a ride to, knowing that there could only be one passenger in your car.
Think before you continue reading. This is a
moral/ethical dilemma that was once actually used as part of a job application.
You could pick up the old lady, because she is going to die, and thus you should save her first; or you could take the old friend because he once saved your life, and this would be the perfect chance to pay him back.
However, you may never be able to find your perfect dream lover again.
I would offer the car to the old lady and an the old friend, so that they could get to safety…. leaving me behind with the person that I’ve been dreaming about.
You give the car to your old buddy. She takes the old lady to the hospital. You stay with your dream partner hoping someone else with good intentions will come along. The only person who pulls up though is a guy driving a semi with a trailer full of new cars. You and the partner of your dreams jump in the front of the cab to meet your good buddy at the hospital to see how the old ladies doing. The guy driving the semi is really into picking up people because along the way he picks up another 7 people. The driver says that no one can fit in the front now so everyone has to hop into a car each on the back of the trailer. Cool! NOW EVERYONE HAS THEIR OWN CAR! Then the semi driver goes 120km/hour and EVERYONE GET’S A SPEEDING TICKET!
Cheers!
Gatsby!
ps. Did I get the job Propertyguru?
