All Topics / Help Needed! / NEWBIE – Where do I start???
Hi
Sorry – this is going to be a bit long winded, but I need to relight the fire.
I have been reading $1,000,000 in one year and am almost finished it. I have to say that the stuff in there is quite exciting and has prompted me to begin to “do something”. I have been scanning these forums for the last few days now and I have to say that this all leaves me a bit mixed.
I have no income! My wife and I sold our business last October – it was a “lifestyle decision” after 20 years of long hours – and as a result of that transaction I have a company that is currently idle and which has some funds that I want to put to work. I have been doing lots of reading and research into just how I am going to do this over the past couple of months and Steve’s “system” seems to have been the one which has the most long term potential for success. However, this change for me is pretty monumental and I just need a bit of a shove in the right direction. I need to be able to get into something that will work and I need to do that with about $20k maximum in cash. I have no house to provide extra equity with. I have read about “deals” that require less than this and it is these deals that inspire me to say “I can do this”.
It is my intention to enrol in the Sydney Seminar in April, but I am not sure I can sustain the ambition until then.
I have no clues as to just where the most important “first step” should be. Is there anyone here in Sydney who is prepared to be my mentor and take my hand for those first few steps to help me on my way before April?
For me the scariest bit is securing finance for one of these “deals” without having an income to support it other than the deal itself. I was doing OK until I read one of the articles in the “Free Stuff” section from a finance provider that was pretty pessimistic in its tone.
I really appreciate the ability to put my thoughts to others out there who are already doing what it is I want to be able to do.
I am sure the hardest one will be the first one. Once there is a base, then the rest shouldn’t be too hard.
And of course – just as I discover this project – the property market cools and everyone is telling me not to take on large debt!
