    Greetings,

A couple of questions from an outsider.

I live in the USA, and as all of you know the decline in the US dollar makes the value of US investments shrink. During a recent trip to Australia I got interested in investment opportunities there. In addition to attractive returns, it would provide an additional gain if the US dollar continues to fall.

So far, I exchanged e-mails with several developer’s trusts (e.g., Austcorp), and with a couple of financial advisors. One of advisors wrote me that developer’s trusts have a history of closing the shop during lean years. I have a couple of questions:

    – How large is the risk of investing in companies like Austcorp? (I have a half-dozen other names)

    – How these investments compare with mortgage funds (e.g., LMAustralia)? I can see that returns from mortgage funds are lower, approximately by the amount of management charges. How much lower is the risk? Is it worth paying the management for?

    – Any other ideas? I am looking for a low-risk to medium-risk investment for a term of several years.

Any help will be greatly appreciated. You may also write me directly to [email protected].

    Thanks and best regards,
    -Sasha Draganov
