    Hi everyone,

    Just a quick question [biggrin]

I recently received a quaterly supply charge from S.A. water. On the invoice it states the ‘quarterly charge for a property with a value of $$$’. I was just wondering how they get the value? Is that just the value of the land or the land and building? It got me worried as the value on the invoice was approximately 8.5% less than what I payed for the property a few months ago. As always any help is much appreciated.

    Cheers [king]

council rates valuation is my guess…the lower they think it’s worth, the better you are off as you will pay less rates and stuff.

I’m confused by this one too – on my council rates sheet there was a blurb saying the figure on my rates was the yearly “rentable” value of the house which was weird because a freind lives in a different shire and their council rates go on land value and nothing else.
