    Hi Everyone

I’m wondering what wrappers do about landlord insurance. Do you generally take this out? If so, which insurers are most competitive?

    Thanks

Jenny Its completely up to you. I had it when I initially rented my first property for two years just incase. However I have been lucky to get good long term tenents and I know them on a personal level after maintenance visits to the house over time. I cancelled the policy five years ago and havn t looked back.

My advice, if you have a high tenent turn over rate or your unsure of your tenants history get it. Its just one of those things.

Where do I go in Qld to get Landlords Insurance? A real estate agent told me a few years ago I could only get it through an agency who was handling the rental…however, now I handle my own rentals so I’d love to be insured! Any ideas? I will ring Suncorp for starters on Monday.

I have a wrap in Qld and had some interesting discussions with insurers as to whether conventional landlord insurance would cover the wrap scenario. Some insurers found it too hard and didn’t want to know. In the end, I went with AAMI who have assured me that their policy will be honoured on a wrap.

    Good luck!
