I would recommend that people do not buy Brother printers. We’ve just had the printing problems in our Multi-Function Centre diagnosed as the print head going – 3 weeks out of warranty! It will cost $220 to fix and new ones cost $399 (was twice that 1 year ago). Not happy.
Apparently Brother is known for this problem (wish we’d known that last year) because the print head is in the machine. Not like HP or Canon which have the print head in the print cartridges – so every time you put in a new cartridge you also put in a new print head.
    Not happy Jan.

    Shazza,

I can understand how you are feeling. I was stupid enough to buy a Brother laser printer a few years ago. It was good for a few months until the drum unit went ($250 for a replacement). I didn’t bother replacing it as I knew the same would probably happen.

I think Brother should stick to making sewing machines!

    Regards,
    Ozi
