    Hi there,

I have found a small town of approx. 1800 people where houses sell from $40 000. Although I am not interested in buying a house to rent there, I was considering buying and then removing the house to another location?

What do you guy’s think? The town is a long way from the coast or any other regional towns so I imagine moving it would be a big expense.

    Thanks,

    Ian

    Hi

I think you answered your own question.

Why not check out the Trading Post if you want to relocate houses? They sometimes have them offered for free, all you have to do is pay the costs of removal. They’re not always in bad nick either.

    Cheers

They sure do. It costs the owner about $7-10K to have those houses removed so it is much easier to chuck a free ad in one of those ad papers and have someone else worry about getting rid of it.

You should have plenty of old houses available to you in QLD! I wish I could get hold of an old queenslander but it would cost way too much to bring over to WA!!! Rats….

I agree, you can certainly pick up houses that ‘you remove’for a lot less than $40k which you would need too as the cost of removal can be quite high (depending on distance, etc).

    To Scremin
There is a house for sale for $1 in the Readers Mart section of the Sunday Times. It doesn’t look like a Queenslander though”!?!

The ‘Quokka’ also has lot’s of freebies.
