Firstly, I come across great product in yesterday’s paper and thought I would check it out on the Net and let you know. Basically, BankWest is offering a product similar to ING cash mgt account, no fees etc. but is offering interest of 6%. I personally have used ING to build up my depo over the last couple of years and think there product was great, cheap, no frills, high interest. If curious of Bankwests offer check out the website http://www.abetterdeal.com.au/TeleNet_Saver/index.

Secondly, anyone have any tips for settlement, I settle on my first property 22/10. Will be living in property 6-10mths, fixing up then using as IP.

    cheers

    Hi Rob

yes i agree that product sounds reasonable.

as far as tips go with settlement, make sure you do one last final inspection before settlement, check the appliances work (stove, hot water, heater etc.) Don’t forget the First home owners grant if you qualify. Have you concidered putting the property into a trust if its a buy and hold ? remember you loose the capital gains exemption (for own homes) if you do sell soon.
