I’m looking at going to NZ in early October to look at properties in the South Island anyone interested in coming along and sharing the costs? Plan is to look at properties Westan has recommended as well as meet up with R.E. agents in the areas that are of interest. Please PM me or list here. Thanks Martin.[biggrin][biggrin]

    Hi Brisbane,

what’s your plan of attack – do you intend to just go up, see Westan and look around and that’s it or do you want someone to ‘share the costs’ with you in investing in a property?

    Regards,
    George.

I’ve found a way to help you save and earn whilst not selling or delivering any product. If interested, drop me an email or PM me to find out how

    Hi Geo and Dangermouse,
Plan is to research a lot of properties on the various R/E sites in NZ focussing on the Sth Island. Utilise Westan and his advice on properties. Tee up inspections with R/E agents prior to leaving. Looking only at larger towns/cities (Invercargill, Dunedin, Christchurch). Finance is currently being put together. I have received some advice regarding solicitors in NZ. Plan is to fly into Christchurch spend 1/2 days here. Next to Dunedin 1/2 days here. Then to Invercargill 1/2 days here. Stay in affordable accomadation and have a hire car for the whole time. Hopefully meet up with Westan. With a bit of luck find a property that fulfils my criteria. See how this property works out learn the process and if it works out head back and do it again. I dont want at this point of time anyone to share the costs of purchasing a property but someone to share the costs of accomadation, car, research, and knowledge. All the better if someone has already invested there. Its cheap to get there at present.
I hope this clears it up a bit. Who knows maybe a group may turn up to go.To dangermouse yes I have IP’s now. 1 in Bendigo 2 in Rockhampton 2 in Cairns. The hardest thing I found was leaving the safety of my town to invest in other states but after I bought the first one it became easier to do so especially as I was by myself( no family or friends to provide advice, not knowing the area like the back of my hand, not being able to drive by it every couple of weeks or so). Now my wife says go as she can go on holiday to the towns I’ve bought in and part of the expenses can be deducted as we also go to inspect our properties. Hope this has been of some help. Martin

this is a fantastic idea…i have just recently brought a property in NZ and currently saving for my next 1 over their…but i am planning to go over next year maybe by then you will be ready for your 2nd in NZ or third but teaming up is a great idea as my family and partner aint to interested in property would be very boring for a relative to go with me with no real interest and i figure it would be very destracting for me..they would want to do tourist things and i wouldnt…maybe next time you could give more notice before going over and you would get more responses good luck !!!! GREAT IDEA
