I am new to preperty investing, our family home is under my husband’s name. Can I access the first home buyer’s grant as I do not own any properties – do I need to live in the property?

If your husband has owned a home then I don’t believe you will be able to apply for the FHOG.

Follow the FHOG links on my website and read the relevant legislation at your state.

    Hi Kez,
If your spouse has a owner occupied residence or has already received the grant then I don’t think you will be eligible for the FHOG,

To be eligible for the grant the dwelling must be used as your principle place of residence within 12 Months of the date of settlement,

for FHOG info in Victoria call 132161
    or visit http://www.sro.vic.gov.au

    Hope this helps,

    Regards
