Can something that has been purchased “with the intention” (ATO seems to like that phrase),of using it in/at/for an I.P., but never do use it after all?? (Eg:door never installed, furniture that doesnt get used, etc)
What is the “right” thing to do?As i dont think i should be out of pocket, but just not sure.[confused2]

You need to have a nexus between the income earned and the expense incurred. For example the door I trust was purchased as a repair. Its just not a repair until you carry that out. As for the furniture put it in the property anyway even if it is in the garage.
