    Hi,

Can someone please help with this question?

    * Can I return the FHOG? If YES, can I reapply for it when I buy another house in the future (assuming the FHOG still exists)?

    Many thanks,

    Tommy

Tommy, yes you can return the FHOG. If you used it to buy what you thought was a PPOR and now isn’t…. Otherwise why would you?

If you haven’t owned a PPOR you can (probably) then reapply for it later on. I would certainly be asking your State Gov the specific question though!

    Cheers

Melbear, thanks a lot for your reply. Do you know if we can sell the property after getting the FHOG and living there for the first 6 months continously?

    Go to http://www.mortgagehunter.com.au/first-home-owner-grant.html

Click on your atate and read the legislation. Call them if you have any questions. Too big a risk to take on the say so of a stranger.

Thanks, Simon. I have called the State Revenue and they said that I can do whatever with it after living there the first 6 months continously.
