    Interesting forum. I wonder what ideas everyone might have on catching the attention of property investors.

    <tim, the parts I have removed are advertising. I have left the rest of your post with the substantive question you asked. kay henry>

    <kay, my apologies, tim>

    Has anyone had experience or a good idea at advertising a property to investors? Investors are inevitably looking for good investments all the time but it’s not humanly possible to monitor all areas at once. Because of this only a small subset of investors will ever be looking at my area at a time. How do I reach a wider group of investors?

    I thought about the following
    Australian Property Investor magazine – submission of ad is 1 month prior to going to print – too long.
    Personal Investment magazine – minimum $3,400 (ouch).
    BRW magazine – minimum $6,600 (aarrghh).
    Australian Financial Review – possibly. Concerned it’s read by business people more than investors.

    So if anyone can help with some ideas I would be very appreciative.

    Thanks
    Tim

    Just get a good local estate agent.

    Serious Investors source properties. If an investor wants a property they go to the local agents, discuss their requirements with them and even leave their details.

    I dont see why you need to advertise at all.

    you can also list your property at http://www.owner.com.au. this is a free service and you can list up to 5 photos of the property for free.

    Check the local paper in your property’s suburb, and see which REA already advertises the most in the category of your property e.g. units, or farm, or commercial, whatever your property is, which you haven’t mentioned in your post.
    That REA should already have a reasonably good enquiry rate on your type of property, so capitalise on it.
    cheers
