why do you want financial freedom ?

If I actually knew what ‘status envy’ meant

My post was partially tongue-in-cheek…but also designed to make people think about what they value & why.

Valuing a career is fine if it’s the career YOU want.

There’s nothing wrong with working for 40 years if you find that work sets you free.

However too many people just react & respond and don’t really THINK. Thus spend most of their lives fulfilling other peoples’ dreams rather than their own.

here is the defintion he uses in the book

‘status anxiety – a worry so pernacious as to be capable of ruining extended stretches of our lives, that we are in danger of failing to conform to the ideas of success laid down by our society and that we may as a result be stripped of dignity and respect: a worry that we are occupying too modest a rung or are abt to fall to a lower one’.
