    Gday

Can someone tell me if there are general limits/laws surrounding how many small businesses are allowed to operate within the same commercial venue?

eg. I have an opportunity to purchase an open plan environment, which could be divided into 6 areas (just partitions, not walls/rooms), so I was wondering about putting 6 microbusinesses together in the same overall space.

I haven’t encountered this before, is it legal, does it vary from state to state, and which professional role is best to speak to about this issue?

    cheers

    Hi abundance,

This will vary based on the applicable regulations governing each small business.

You main concern will involve building and fire codes, eg how many people safely within a building, appropriate exits, fire systems etc.

    The list goes on.

Check with the council as a starting point

    Cheers
    Jeff
