    Hi

    I was wondering whats a good amount rent return.

    I always thought 5%pa was reasonable from what I read on another a guy was getting 25% pa which blew me away.

    Hi Dandan,

    It is all relative and depends on a whole range of factors such as area you are buying in, the reason for buying, your investment beliefs, your portfolio needs, your income levels, capacity to negative gear, depreciation claims and so on.

    Look at similair properties for rent in the area, ‘Gordon Gecko’ may think Greed is good but it’s better to have a quality long term tenant than waiting forever for a tenant because your rents are to high for the area, and you wont budge.. be realistic..
