    To the girls
Think seriously…for a min (or although lonely guys poems) could take longer [baaa]

What would you think if some guy approached you dribbling poetry ???

    [confused2]

    Interesting question Jancrows.

Yeh, Is poetry better than muscles ?

Anway, I think I already know the answer to your question Jancrows.

Whilst the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach I reckon the way to a woman’s heart is whispering sweet nothings in her ears.

    Works everytime.

You may feel foolish doing it but, hey, if it works, what are you complaining about.

    Pisces,

Personally I think women like muscles :o) Poetry is definitely passe. I think women want tough guys… but I am sure some women want snags- hehe. Tough works though, with some women (thank god)

Yeah tough and strong works for me…:))
But when you’re in the mood words can be magic, too! Not necessarily poetry though.
And bad poetry is a turn-off!

Celivia said “And bad poetry is a turn-off!”

Are you perhaps having a go at me Celivia ?

I know I am pretty good with words though I would be the first to admit that I couldn’t carry a tune in a bucket.

I have therefore realised that if there is one characteristic I should be looking for in a girl it would have to be that she can sing.

To know that my words will actually be sung now that would fulfill me very much.

BTW, my meeting with Mary over the weekend didn’t really go very well. Nice looking girl but she is just too shy. I couldn’t possibly imagine that she would be capable to stand out in front of a crowd singing my songs.

Can anyone of you girls sing a bit ? I would love to hear from anyone who would like to meet up with me (except WildFlower however).

She just comes through to me as being utterly ruthless. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if she helped that poor friend of hers jump into that water by giving him a bit of a shove and a push.

There is a reason for someone portraying oneself in the way she choses to do. She must think she is a female version of Spiderman.

You know how to reach me.

    Have a nice weekend.

Hmmm LSM, what makes you think I talking about YOUR poetry?

I was talking about bad poetry in general- any bad poetry.
Anything less than Christopher Marlowe is a turn-off for me :))) Hehe just joking!

Hope you find your singing bird!

    Hi there LonelySingleMan,

I think you’ve misjudged WallFlower, she is a real diamond in the rough…..seriously, she is a lovely girl and nowhere near ruthless. Admittedly though, she has a warpped sense of humour at times, which can be just what is needed given the circumstances. All in all, I reckon it just adds to her naturally feminine charm!!! Watch it, LonelySingleDude, or I’ll moderate you and your bad poetry into oblivion! [biggrin] Oops- I forgot, as a Moderator, I am supposed to be “moderate” :o)

Put yer muscle where your metaphor should be, LSG! [goatee]

Well, Pisces- seems I may as well put my muscles away [angry2] as they’re useless in 2004. Apparently Aussie women prefer snags. Time to change my strategy?

    Check this out:

LSM, You win!! You must have women flocking to you with your snaggy poetry!

Seriously though, in that study, only 56% of women want their guy to be sexy. I don’t understand that. What do women think? Sexiness not on your list of “must haves”? Prefer your guy to get his arms all over the dirty dishes instead of all over you?

Help this non-snag to understand [blush2]

    Hi Kay,

Firstly, I attribute little (if any) credibility to any such research, especially from the Herald-Sun which is basically written to be comprehensiable by anyone from the age of 12 !!!!! Furthermore, it really depends on the size and the randomness of the sample on which they drew their conclusions.

Nevertheless, for me personally, a man may look like Pearce Brosnan, have the cheeky pretty boy smile of Tom Cruise, and the sex appeal of Ricky Martin, but if hasn’t got anything between his ears, poetry or no poetry, I ain’t interested!!!!

    Jo,

I couldn’t care less about the validity, reliability or representativeness of the sample, etc. I was interested in the sentiment behind it :o)

So you are saying you don’t mind of your guy is ugly as long as he’s brainy- ok, that’s fair enough :o) Brains before beauty is de rigeur for you.

Anyone else like a negative-geared guy? Good to look at, a real manbag, the returns are not so good, and you keep waiting hopefully for the boom for a bit of emotional growth? Or do you prefer the pozz geared guy- the emotional returns are great, but he’s not so pretty to look at?

Hmmm would that be neutral geared?

    Hi Kay,

Sorry, I hope you don’t think I was having a dig at you over the validity/credibility issue; just made that point because there are so many who take such findings as “gospel”.

As for “ugly”, there is ugly and there is ugly. Sure a guy has to “appeal” to me, but I’m am simply saying, that as long as he is smart, is compassionate, loving etc (yes the emotional stuff too) looks can (and for me often do) fade into obscurity very quickly……I have known male models with drop dead looks, but with the personality of a cactus plant!!! [angry2]

Anyways, (what am I doing?????!!) I’m out of the race……..[biggrin]

So women want a guy who is all soft and snaggy, and the rest can be left to an extreme makeover- hope I’m getting the right idea here.

and Celivia… I’ve got one word to say to you…

    Domino effect.
