    MartinW,
Do you really beleive that negative is positive?

Dude, I agree that there are scams and shams out there and that some people are sucked in.

Some degree of skepticism is of course needed,

However, I am positive that being positive that being negative is positive… is NEGATIVE.[rolleyes5]

Everything has good and bad sides. You come across as being unable to see both sides. You come across as only seeing the bad in things. You come across as someone who wants others to see only the worst in a situation.

I hope that deep down inside there is some constructive goodness within you. I know there must be.

If so, you are stereo-typical of a disease that i beleive Australia. The “I can’t do that, because……..” mentality. It causes people to work in jobs they hate for too long, it limits peoples dreams, hopes and aspirations. Families are unhappy, kids are neglected, social chaos.

I oppose your slant of leaning towards the negative side, at best “you want be taken advantage of” and at worst “you will end up with nought but antagonistic pokes at successful people”

If instead you were positive, at best “all your dreams would be fulfilled” and at worst “you end up with nought, but at least you tried”

I know your current opinions have been formed by people and experiences in your past, and i don’t expect anything to get past your defences.

I will take a shot are your sub-conscious though.

    MartinW,

Sorry to disappoint…but you didn’t bother me at all. As I said, I am not a follower of Steve’s teachings (per se), but I don’t claim it CAN’T work, if you are prepared to venture beyond your own backyard.

Why so antagonist??? All that will happen is people will see you for the angry young man that you undoubtedly (for whatever reason) have become.

How this type of behaviour will help your cause may be interesting, especially to anyone who actually cares, but I personally don’t….so please spare me!!!!!

    Monopoly,
Success is a journey, not a destination….not alway true.

    Success is a destination, not a journey….trading

    Martin,
If you go to the pub, please don’t drink and drive, otherwise I won’t see you here again.

Should it be “Wake Up, Martin” instead of “Change your tune, Steve”

    Kind regards

Chan, the way the world is made up there have to be baddies as otherwise how would one know who the goodies like you and me are ?

I actually feel very sorry for people like Martin
as often their unbalanced state of mind is caused by problems in their life.

Often such behaviour is caused by a lack of self esteem, other times the cause may be a sexual inadequacy. Sometimes it is just a case of bad genes or bad upbringing.

Either way, when people become bitter and need to push someone else down in order to make themselves feel good there is always a reason for such behaviour.

We really ought to show a lot of compassion for such people Chan, hard as it may be. [smiling] They are what they are, inadequate creatures, rejected and shunned by the rest of the world, pariahs, one eyed cowboys.

    Hi all,

I agree with Aussie… I also want to know who Martinw really is. I too have followed his posts (with disgust) and wondered what his real agenda is.

However, I think this post is now getting a bit long in the tooth, and it’s probably time to move on to a more interesting subject.

Every reply just gives him more satisfaction!![satan]

Yes I see your point ChanS, [biggrin]

And I agree it is a destination also, however because “success” is subjective; measured differently by different people, the destination point is also not the same for everyone.

IMO it is the journey that is the most important, because (if and/when you get there) unless you can see how you got reached it, and whether you have learnt from any mistakes along the way, your destination may sadly prove to b, e just a short visit!!!! [blink][blink][blink]

    Cheers,

Don’t drink and drive, otherwise I won’t see you here as well. If it’s hard to tell then you are one of them.

Totally not agreed, but no further comments, will do when time permit.

Yeah, there’s a name for people who do things just to waste time or get up people’s arses, and that’s ‘tyrekicker’.

So Martin is an employee/agent/sycophant of Jenman, surprise, surprise, (not) – Jenman is probably paying him to be the bad cop so Jenman doesn’t get his hands dirty. I wonder if Martin realises he’s being used as a sacrificial lamb?

*yawn*, it’s always the people *who haven’t done it* that yell the hardest about how it can’t be done – meanwhile the rest of us go out and prosper, growing our empires – and unfortunately
are still outnumbered by 95 percent of the world who will be ‘poor’ when they retire, who yell and scream louder and make more excuses, such as martin – ‘it must be impossible because i haven’t done it’. to which the argument is ‘it must be possible because Steve has done it’.

There is an age-old argument that comes up again and again, to the tune of ‘but that was then, that wouldn’t work NOW’. So the answer is, either wait until the exact same point in the next Australia property cycle where Steve started, and get to it – or, go find where the cheese has moved to. The closest place where i think it is at the moment (i.e. where you can still find loads of the classic ‘steve book’ 60k property, rents for 130 per week, will go up in CG) – is NZ. That’s beyond most people’s comfort zones, and that’s fine – but it doesn’t mean Steve’s book doesn’t work, it meant that they used location of property as an excuse to why they weren’t prepared to do it. OK, it’s not for everyone, but it sure works, you can do it any time, and the cheese does move now and then, but you can either go find the cheese elsewhere or wait for it to come back, or winge, or negative gear, or buy shares, or do nothing, or build a business.

All we – as investors out there doing it RIGHT NOW – can do is (like Steve does) share our knowledge and try and empower the ‘ordinary Australian’ AKA eachother, to realise even they can get into the market – that there is an alternative – that even if you couldn’t afford to support/pay into a negatively geared property, why not buy some positively geared ones instead which will actually make you money?

I know someone on an income of 10k a year who still managed to purchase three properties in a year and is about to get the fourth. All CF+ve of course.

Oh, and Martin, when you get back from the pub where i infer that you are drowning your sorrows with alcohol, then eat this – hypocrite – dissing others for quoting others, and quoting like mad yourself. (jenman, books, etc)

And don’t bother replying with a one-liner if you’re drunk/hungover, as a terse/grumpy reply doesn’t cut it here – we have a lot of intelligent investors who like a debate that challenges their view-point as much as anyone, but we don’t like to kick a man when he’s down, either…

yeah one more thing, the book? Steve’s book? OK, let’s say there’s one person out there who hasn’t read it yet, but puts it to perfectly good use – to put their coffee on, so the table doesn’t get marked.

the next person also puts it to good use – they’ve read it from cover to cover, understood it and taken action. both bought the book, both did different things with it, both got different results.

Of course HAVING the book is not a guarantee of anything – but READING the book and undertanding it, and taking action COULD give you the knowledge you may have been lacking before you bought the book-
    to start investing.?

    cheers-
