    Eyewitness report :

Saw a fight between Mr Mundine and Mr Siaca on TV in Five Dock RSL last night.

I don’t know anything much about boxing but the scoring of the judges did nevertheless come as a surprise to me as they saw fit to make it a close fight in their estimation.

Either they must have been doing a bit of boxing themselves in the past or else I need to learn a bit more about the finer points of boxing.
    (probably the latter [smiling] )

The whole fight if you can call it that, appeared so one sided to me.

From what I saw, crafty Mundine utilised the fight to practice his dancing steps.

He did a hell of a lot of back pedalling, continuously, so it seemed, got done in like a dinner with at least a couple of good knockdowns and proved to be rather ineffectual.

When he first got knocked down it was clear where the sentiment of the audience in the packed club lay i.e. there certainly were very very few Mundine supporters judging by the cheering as he got knocked down.

I thought it a bit unfair of one of those in the anti Mundine camp yelling out : ‘Stop dancing like a ballerina’ though he certainly did make some very sleek sliding steps.

And the anti Mundine sentiment isn’t at all surprising I guess after his antics on television some time ago when, talking about the 9/11 affair, he made the remark ‘They got what they deserved”.

On the very few occasions I have seen him featured on TV he didn’t exactly come through as the smartest guy around.

Then again he must be a lot smarter than me laughing all the way to the bank.

His self promotion, one liners etc was done 40yrs ago by someone that could box.

But as long as Anthony thinks he is original, then let him keep thinking it….

    Pisces,

It is quite unfortunate the I was there at Five Docks earlier, but have to miss the fight.

If Mundine win then there will so much talk about him. So it is good to see him lose.

    Kind regards
