I recently seen a member start a conversation regarding ideas on investing and stratagies which people are currently using to generate their wealth. i was trying to kick off another brainstorming excersize similar wondering what people are investing in other then property? and also what other avenues as far as companys and businesses are concerned.

il kick it off, i am investing into australian money/coins, for capital gfrowth 30% growth approx.
also i am currently in the process of opening a web business (advertising).

Lets see what other things people have…..
    all thoughts welcomed!

Just a quick note, the problem with coins is that to make money you have to sell them, yes they might go up in value, but you have to sell them to realise this new value.

Also if you sell them, you lose an asset and the ability to get more money in the future, it’s tough ‘eh! I went through the same phase. Unless you start trading them… I don’t know enough about that market to comment.

At the moment I’m trying to find out as much about ‘shares’ as I can. Specifically, shorts and technical patterns. Can’t wait for the next share boom and bust.

Angel funding some companies, arranging some direct investments into cashflow producing assets, looking into several education initiatives.

Still forming some ideas in other areas.

    Nathan,

What sort of coins are you talking about? Older coins or recent new releases such as the Gold coins issued by the mint?

    This is all very interesting.

    Sports Memorabilia.

1 – Glenn McGrath “Zero Gravity” – amazing catch he took whilst perpendicular to the ground.

2 – 2 signed Subaru WRX, numbered, Possum Bourne posters.

3 – mini cricket bat signed by 2 of “The Invincibles” (if you don’t know cricket, you won’t understand [biggrin])

All originals and because I only paid for 2 of the items ( it IS all legal, gifts ), appreciation is rather healthy

Looking at some Carlton stuff also.

Also got some managed share stuff, which I am quite impressed with – but may not have much longer, going to be used as partof deposit for new IP. [blush2]

I also know how to picture-frame so if I get bored on my days off, may look at second job to fund habit buying do-dads.

    Cheers

I’m investing in an independent TV production company which is shooting an entertainment pilot later in the year, whose business is developing talent and creating a concept and brand.

plus storing and growing earned and other passive income in property of course.

also investing in intellectual property (aka, mine!)

    joy to the world
