Hi Guys,
Im looking for a website with the different council property rates around australian cities. I currently own 2 properties in Townsville, Nth QLD and would like to know what kind of rates the rest of australia is paying. If anyone knows of a website can you please post it. If not, can you post what you are paying in rates, and a brief description of your property, eg views, b’rooms and elevation. I am paying $1650 per year in a 4 Bedroom Large house with a view of Townsville city and Magnetic Island.HI cvrjcu,
As an example, rates in brisbane are based on land values, maybe getting people to list location, land value and rates paid would be a better indicator for you.

Hi cvrjcu,
You can always ring the local council – their rates section will give you the answer you are seeking.
As rates are levied on the land value the figures can vary significantly from council to council and also with a local council area depending on when the valuer general’s office (or equivalent in your state) does their revals.

I Pay about 1800pyr in Hermit Park Townsville for a 2bd Townhouse with views of nothing. TSV city Council use the value of the property + so much for each Toilet (yes ea toilet, i have 2 and i promise i go just as often as someone who has 1 toilet but pay extra) and so much for garbage. you get a nice discount off your PPOR though. if you live in it call up and tell the council.
Compared to what my friends and i pay in Townsville your laughing. email if you have any questions

My PPOR in Wollongong, 790 – 3 bed, and I thought NSW would be the dearest … go figure!!
