Fed: PC report on housing being finalised today
Housing (CANBERRA)
The Productivity Commission’s report into first home ownership
is being finalised after eight months of deliberations.
Assistant commissioner CHRIS SAYERS says the commission is still
putting the final touches on the report, due by today.
He says the process will probably take a few days, but won’t
reveal when the commission hopes to hand the report to Treasurer
PETER COSTELLO.
Mr COSTELLO must release the report within 25 parliamentary
sitting days.
Parliament breaks for five weeks after this week, meaning the
government could release the report as late as August.
In its discussion draft released in December, the commission
recommended the $7,000 first home buyer grants be means tested and
stamp duty scrapped for property purchases.

Richmond,
the last thing the NSW Government needs to do is cut stamp duties. This labour gov’t has turned this state into a complete disaster state. You only have to read the newspapers(and see channel 9 news)listen to talk back radio to find the joint is turning into anarchy.Schools, education, police,
water resouces and transport. Thats just some of the problems in this state. There’s almost no law and order.Police offices were repremanded for arresting three HOONS for bad language. It causeds a riot.Forty police offices had too quell the hoons.Lebonese.At least in Melbourne the baddies are killing baddies. No problem there for me. Let them go for it.Them hang what’s left.
Now the state is having a mini budget,as the gov’t is broke! If you drink, smoke or gamble watch out!! So in NSW if it means cutting any taxes the answer is a big NO!
Regardless of what Canberra says.

The second best decision,is the wrong decision.
The worst decision,is to do nothing.
