    If Thorpe wasn’t swimming, Hackett would win… who knows, Michael Phelps from the States might take everyone by surprise and get up and take the gold… wouldn’t that be an anti-climax?

    It is interesting to read that the IOC has taken out insurance in case the Olympics get cancelled!

    …and Mark Spitz seems to think that the US will withdraw due to terrorist threats.

    It all seems to be a bit of a debacle to me.
