I was a subscriber to API magazine up until April last year where my subscription run out! I was going to subscribe again, but due to day by day delaying I end up not subscribe to it and buy issue by issue from the Newsagents.
I will subscribe to API again soon. Thanks for reminding me!
I have nothing to do with API Mag. But I reckon its almost the reason for my knowledge and success to date.
I got my copy yesterday and I reckon its the best source of information around. I love property investing and its been my campanion for the journey since it started.
Better than any guru can provide. I love the case studies. Real people real success. These stories inspire me. Its got the legal and accounting stuff as well.
After tax it costs me hardly anything.
I live in Melb and I understand API comes out of Qld.
Hi Yack,
I used to have a boss who subscribed and then left the company so for the next 12 months i got free API mag[strum][strum].
Now i make sure to buy a copy whenever i think about it as ito am inspired by stories of success and my favourite section is always keeping track of median property values as it is a good guide of how prices are travelling and quite accurate i have found especially in the areas that i invest!
Ok by[whistle] for now [whistle][whistle]
Sooner or later the man who wins is the man who thinks he can
I subscribe to KPI magazine and The NZ property Investor, and i occasionally buy API from the news-stands. i used to get API all the time, until I discovered the NZ ones, and seeing as that’s where I am investing for now, I find it useful.
but yeah, industry magazines, no matter what the industry, are invaluable.
A lot of the things I know about NZ, I picked up from the mags. i.e. someone was asking about subdividing in NZ. I remembered one of the articles in KPI about ‘the 17 steps to subdividing your property’ and just basically looked it up.
yack, on re-reading your post, I noticed – as usual – you never miss an opportunity to diss a) seminars and b) cashflow investing do you?
Well, as a person who hasn’t missed an issue of API magazine, you’d remember the article comparing two case studies, one negative geared, and one CF+ve, which came out better? CF.
Marginally. but that was right in the middle of the boom. it would be better than ‘marginally’ now.
And as for seminars, magazines don’t replace seminars, just like books don’t replace movies.
both have their merits.
I have been meaning to for ages – just signed up. You should def. be on commission!

I have actually emailed Lane Boy the editor a few times. I even suggested they have a forum like this. And now I open the mag and find there is a new editor – Sue Fitzgerald.
Anyone heard of her before – anyone know what happened to Lane Boy??????
Well, I just went to the website and signed up for a subscription… so yack, you should be getting a commission cheque in the mail… I hope I now have some street cred with you…
cheers

Hi all, I don’t subscribe to API, I try and read the articles that interest me while standing in the newsagents (how tight is that). If something REALLY interests me or the guy behind the counter is giving me dirty looks (just because I’ve been standing there an hour) I will buy it. lol.
Yack, whether or not I subscribe to a magazine bears no relevance to my ability as an investor or otherwise. Who cares who subscribes or who buys it at the newsagency? Yes its a great magazine, but its only one source of information. I wouldn’t base my life’s investing on it.
