Is there any possible way of entering into an option with out paying stamp duty.

In my experience, I took out an option to purchase an “off-the-plan” unit on completion.
There was no stamp duty on the option, but there will be stamp duty on the contract of sale once the option is exercised.
That is, all we have done is deferred the payment of stamp duty not avoided it.

Hi
It’s different in each state. Here in QLD there is stamp duty on the option fee as far as I know but if you sell the option you wouldn’t incur stamp duty on the property(as far as i know).
