    hello all,

I’m just wondering if it’s important to properly set up a structure for your PPOR? for example, Steve Mcnight has built a portfolio of +cashflow properties. if he was to buy his PPOR, would he buy it in his name, his wife’s name, their joint name or other specific structures like a trust? what would you guess?

    thanks in advance

Ken, it really depends on how long you intend to keep it as your PPOR, and whether or not you want to sell it.

If you plan on making it an IP in the future, maybe you should put it in a trust. if you plan on selling it, maybe you should buy it in personal names to keep the CGT exemption.

    Cheers
    Mel

    Ken,

I would recommend you to read ‘Trust Magic’ by Dale Gatherum-Goss.
